Aryl Sterling, a lifelong sci-fi enthusiast and Aerospace Engineering graduate from Texas A&M, drew inspiration from his NASA career and space science research. Retiring to fully pursue writing, he now lives in rural Texas with his wife and many pets, crafting imaginative stories rooted in his passion for the cosmos.
Aryl Sterling has always been a sci-fi enthusiast, a passion sparked by his father, who read him stories and watched The Twilight Zone with him. This love for science fiction carried him through grade school, high school, and eventually to Texas A&M University, where he earned a degree in Aerospace Engineering. His imagination continued to soar during his time at NASA and later in the space science division of a research institute, where new story ideas seemed to emerge from the vast expanse of space.
After “retiring” a couple of times and dabbling in consulting, Aryl realized that if he was ever going to write the science fiction stories swirling in his mind, he’d have to retire for good—and that’s where this new chapter of his life begins.
Now, he lives in a remote area at the base of the Texas Hill Country, west of San Antonio, near a small town called Utopia (yes, it’s a real place). Aryl shares his home with his wonderful, patient wife, along with three dogs, eight cats, three parrots, and a horse—all of whom seem to tolerate him just fine.
